One of the highlights of 2016 was having the opportunity to work with Jeneration PR on a variety of branding and web projects. Jeneration is a Los Angeles-based boutique public relations and marketing firm with a specific focus on beauty, baby and lifestyle brands.
Jeneration PR works 1-on-1 with their clientele providing both the strategic vision and tactical execution of their projects. The company’s founder, Jennifer Berson was on the hunt for a more upscale look to further differentiate the business after it celebrated its 10 year anniversary.
Before we started the Jeneration PR rebrand, we’d just wrapped another project for Jen, the design of her self-paced PR program called Jeneration Academy.
It was important that the brands were visually related but while Academy was targeted at the small business self-starter,the PR brand needed to feel more refined and upscale since the business offers bespoke services to a variety of established brands.
As we worked through research portion of the branding process, Jen’s love of cobalt hues and lapis lazuli textures rose to the top. The more serious deep cobalt was a perfect contrast to the lighter, beach-inspired palette of Academy. Soft, sandy cream and brushed bronze add warmth to the brand while the lapis has an ocean-like quality, another tie back the Academy beach theme.
While Academy had a more casual sans serif font (Sackers Gothic), we chose a structured, elegant serif called Freight for the Jeneration wordmark but added the “PR” in Sackers as a visual link between the two brands.
The Jeneration PR rebrand is still rolling out since we’re in the midst of building the website but once all the elements are finished, Jeneration will have a clear differentiation from its PR competition, thanks to its specialization in the industry partnered with the upscale, feminine visual aesthetic.
